I think i am the only Inflatable hirer in New Zealand who stakes an Inflatable down then adds a 36kg sandbag tied to each anchor point, the reason i do it is staking a castle might be fine 99% of the time but the 1% it isn't is where a plan b needs to be there, yes its a pain to carry 5 sandbags for a standard bounce house but it gives me more confidence when i walk away from the peoples house. i am not saying sandbags wont stop an inflatable from flying away in a freak wind event but at least sandbags might give the kids enough time to get off or enough time for a parent to get them off
I dont set inflatables up in any wind over 15mph but in saying that location is king in the wind, i have set a castle up behind a house which acted as a wind barrier and it was fine, i have also tried to set the same castle up in an exposed location and the wind prevented it from going up - so i rolled it up and took it home
the sandbags i tie to each D ring sit on top of the 40cm Steel peg which is driven into the ground and will help keep the steel peg in the ground
