Good day everyone, here’s one more tip from this handle. This post is directed towards those who like sales jobs. Today, I will be giving 3 tips on how to motivate and attract new customers. I am sure you've been wondering why some sales persons do very well while the others? Oh, my! There are things which we all get wrong at some point or another in our lives, some of which lead us to regret. Today will be about fixing mistakes and also avoiding new ones. So read on as we unveil the cotton.
The 3 tips I will be giving are in no way mechanical. That means that you can actually choose any of them or even all of them and apply them in any situation just as you please.
1. An attitude of gratitude
Most traders are never thankful for the choice people make to trade with them. Sometimes, we make the mistake of thinking if it’s not by us then the world won’t go anywhere. Wait a minute, have you forgotten how tiny the portion of the entire world of traders you represent? Be thankful for customers. Customers are special people. They took the risk that, of all the billions of people on the planet, they chose you. Understand this and treat each and every customer you have as the golden treasure that they are.
You may not understand the implication of these lines until you begin to lose them to others who appreciate their partnership. You are just one part of the business you do, and without customers, the business will crumble. Understand that nobody has to do business with you; they choose to. In making that choice they are doing you a huge favour and always appreciate that.
2. Put a check on employees
Sometimes we set up businesses with good prospects and after doing everything right the only problem we introduce is the people we chose to work with or for us. Business is like a moving ship, don’t bring anyone onboard whose weight the ship can’t bear. That’s toxic and will mark the demise of any business. Anyone can fake behavior temporarily, but if you do watch closely and observe, you’ll see how well they hold on to that attitude.
It’s not enough to have an attitude of gratitude, also ensure that the entire organization portrays the same. One of the easiest ways to know what kind of people employees are is through the process of interviews. For example; you could delay interviews or keep postponing the date just to check the patience level of those you are about to employ. Their reaction would show you how they would react each time a customer (kid) waffles on a buying decision.
3. Look in the mirror
Many times, I’ve had to regret why I walk into certain stores, especially restaurants. Are you the type that sells what people eat and you don’t care to know how you look? Are you the reason why your customers have nausea of even Goosebumps?
A few weeks ago I practically walked out of a restaurant a few minutes before I could seal an order because the owner took something off her nose. Don’t do that. Keep your work environment as clean as possible. Remember, it’s not your bedroom, it’s your workplace. A lot of people are going to show up who may not find it funny to put up with your little idiosyncrasies.
In summary, remember to always have an attitude of gratitude. Observe your partners and employees. Lastly, look in the mirror. Thanks for reading this article, look out for more sales tips to come.
