Ode to a vegetable sandwich

So here we are
I am here, you are there
looking at me, waiting for me
I can see you, I can smell you , I can feel you
tomato , lettuce, asparagus , mayonnaise
asparagus, asparagus, will you do the fandango?

Toasted bread, like my toasted health
my toasted life, I know how you feel
so many ingredients, so different but working in harmony
like in the USS Enterprise
or the United Nations
you work to be eaten
like in the United Nations

Oh Mr Ban Ki-moon, what are you gonna do?
what are you gonna do when they come for you?
What are you gonna do with my vegetable sandwich?
Because I need to eat but I know I shouldn´t
Look at those tomatoes working in harmony altogether
with their enemies the asparagus
but today, they are united in one
If I eat them, what kind of human being I am?
Is this the world we are going to give to our sons?
Will they forgive us for our sins someday?
