SAT Essays
Students are asked to explain how the author of a preprinted article, essay, or adaptation of said builds his or her argument through rhetorical devices. Students must refrain from stating their own opinions, including slipping in causative statements like "Based on the strength of her argument, Ms. name has convinced readers about protecting the intracoastal waterways."
As with writing a college essay, the student should start with an outline that presents the overall organization of the intended essay, along with major points stated as short phrases.
