First satellite of Bangladesh The Bangabandhu satellite (Bangabandhu-1) was launched on May 11, 2018 from the United States.

Bangabandhu Satellite-1 was launched at 4:14pm May 11, 2018.

It is named after the founding father of Bangladesh, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The total cost of the satellite was projected to be 248 million US dollars in 2015
