I'm sure many of us have seen a show or film (or several of them) wherein one of the characters says to another, that if they do a certain thing or are with a particular person it will go badly. The other usually does it anyway. The outcome is as their friend had said, it did not go well. Which typically leads to that friend saying, I told you so or words to that effect.
Many times writers will include situations that have happened to them or someone they know. I'm sure there has been somebody, somewhere, at some point in time, who has said to someone else, I told you so. I've never done this to anyone & as far as I can remember, no one has to me either. Nothing even remotely like that. Perhaps my grandma did occasionally. I'm not counting parents, guardians or other authority figures. It kind of goes with the territory that they may something of that nature. How about you? Have you said or had it said to you, I told you so? What were the circumstances, if you don't mind sharing.
