Steem Dollars is actually at One U.S.D.

Yesterday, a quick look at coingecko, or coinmarketcap, showed you a per SBD price of $0.90 USD or $0.95 USD. However, if you look at the sources of coinmarketcap the exchange linked to the Steem Dollars page doesn't even have Steem Dollars listed in the Markets section!

In the case of CoinGecko there are several exchanges: Upbit, Bittrex, and HitBTC. Looking up the prices in UpBit we have 10,200 USDT/BTC and 9894 Sats/SBD. Multiplied together this is 1 USD. HitBTC has had its Steem and Steem Dollar wallet frozen since I started using Steem and trust me that's been the Lion share of Steem's existence now. For all intents and purposes, if you cannot take your Steem out, it's not really there. So, the price they post is meaningless.

Unfortunately, Steem dollars have been very unstable and often significantly below and occasionally significantly above the value of a USD.
Over the course of a day the Steem Dollar has gone from 0.90 to a full dollar.

In contrast the Tether Dollar has been so amazingly stable:

I blame the lack of use of Steem Dollars for trade.

Now, BitTrex has SBD trading at 0.98 USD. This is not
