Education is not just about going to school and getting a degree. It's about widening your knowledge and absorbing the truth about life.

In my little time of going round different schools in the Southern part of Nigeria, precisely Akwa Ibom State. I have come to realize that quality education over here is mainly for the rich and this has over the years placed Nigeria on a very belittling status in the ladder of education in the world.

The truth is that 60 million Nigerians, or 30 percent of the population mostly the youth cannot read or write and this shocking reality can only be traced to the fact that quality Education is lacking in the Nation.

The Nigerian government have vehemently refused to raise the value and standard of public education in the Nation and has ignorantly grafted a way for the self-seeking and exploiting politicians to build schools with cost that are too unimaginable for the average people.

In my research, i found out that In 2015, youth illiteracy rate for Nigeria was 9.43 million. Youth illiteracy of Nigeria increased from 5.19 million in 1991 to 9.43 million in 2015 growing at an average annual rate of 24.32 %.

There can be no sustainable financial growth in a Nation where there is no quality education, where the people are not sufficiently educated.

Literacy lifts individuals out of poverty

Lacking basic reading and writing skills is a tremendous disadvantage.

Literacy not only enriches an individual’s life, but it creates opportunities for people to develop skills that will help them provide for themselves and their family.

Literacy positively impacts economic growth beyond the local community

The impact of improving literacy in youths not only has a positive economic impact at a local and community level, but the productivity of the workforce flourishes at country level too by enhancing a country’s economic strength. According to the National Bureau of Statistics of Nigeria (NBS), the inflation rate of Nigeria as at December, 2018, January, 2019 and February 2019 inflation reports. Nigeria's current inflation rate is 11.3%. And this has been possible with the help of educated experts who are kin in handling Nations economy.

Below are pictures showing the deplorable state of public schools in Nigeria precisely Akwa Ibom.

How Telos Will Help

With Telos, we are not going to change the building structure of schools in Akwa Ibom-which may likely happen in future as Telos grows- but we intend to sponsor the smooth learning of student whose parents are not really financially buoyant.

My intentions is to get the school introduced to Telos, create an account for each student, see to the smooth running of the account and at the end of it all, use the proceeds to settle their academic bills as the case may be.

I envision a future of quality education for the young people in my locality who do not have any with Telos, beatitudes, acorns and Heart blessings.

I see a generation that will be free from poverty and servitude with Telos.

Happy birthday to @Sirknight and God bless you for having a large heart for the Kingdom. I promise that i will not take for granted this awesome privilege to change lives with Telos.
