Greetings to friends and brothers in Christ.

Besides Christian, I am also an educator, and I believe that in this journey of life, we always meet proud people. However, we can say that the Bible is very clear. God abhors human pride. James 4: 6 says it bluntly: "God resists the proud, and gives grace to the humble." It is a message that is repeated throughout the Scriptures (Pr 3:34, 16: 5-6, 18:12, Is 2:11, Ph 2: 3, 1P 5: 5).

The Bible describes pride as one of the four things that the Lord hates the most, in addition to arrogance, the evil way and the perverse mouth (Pr 8:13). In another passage, pride is part of seven other things that are an abomination to the Lord: "The haughty eyes, the lying tongue, the hands shed innocent blood, the heart that hides the evil thoughts, the feet running to run the evil , the false. " Witness that speaks lies, and he who sows discord among brothers "(Pr 6: 17-19).

God puts pride in the same category as murder!

We fall prey to pride when we forget that the Lord does not live according to us, but that we exist for him. Why does God hate human pride so much? Because it prevents us from submitting to his purpose for our life. Pride makes us useless for the kingdom of God. When we commit ourselves to doing things our own way, we are implicitly rejecting their way of doing things.

The Lord does not share his glory with anyone, and the truth is that we try to keep some of his glory every time we say: "Look what I have achieved, look at me, look at who I have become!". By doing this, we deny that He is the one who gave us the power and gave us the power to live. Any good that is in us is by its design and redemption. Everything worthy that we have become is because He fixed it. We have no more kindness than what God gives us.

Proverb 16:18 teaches: "Before destruction is pride, and before falling the height of the spirit." Although not all ruin is caused by our pride, pride always ends in devastation. In general, we will lose those achievements that have produced the greatest pride, because everything we acquire outside of God's will ends up becoming ashes.

I am pleased to have shared with you this lesson on "How much God hates human pride".

God bless you more ...
