Greetings to the whole community.

In Bible stories we will share the story of Jacob's daughter named Dina who is in difficulties. This story is found in Genesis 34: 1-31.

See who will visit Dina? You will see some girls who live in the land of Canaan. Would this please your father Jacob? Something that will help you answer this question is to try to remember what Abraham and Isaac thought about the women of Canaan.

Did Abraham want his son Isaac to marry a girl from Canaan? No. Did Isaac and Rebecca want their son Jacob to marry a Canaanite? No. Do you know why?

It was because these people from Canaan worshiped the false gods. They were not good people to have as husbands and wives, and they were not good people to have such close friends. But we can be sure that Jacob would not like his daughter to seek friendship with these Canaanites.

Dina got into trouble, yes. Can you see in the picture that the man looks at Dina? It's called Siquem. One day, when Dina went to visit, Shechem forced Dina to sleep with him. This was bad, because only married men and women should sleep together. This bad thing that Siquem did to Dina led him to many more difficulties.

When Dina's brothers heard what had happened, they got very angry. Two of them, Simeon and Levi, became so angry that, carrying swords, they entered the city by surprise. They and their brothers killed Shechem and all the other men. This bad thing that Jacob's sons did was very angry with his father.

How did all this difficulty begin? It was due to Dina's friendship with people who did not obey the laws of God. We will not look for such friendships, right?

We'll see each other in the next Bible Story. Blessings
