In Bible stories for children, we will share this story of "Jacob goes to Haran." We can find this narrative in Genesis 29: 1-30.

Do you know who these men are with whom Jacob speaks?

After traveling many days, Jacob found them near a well. They were taking care of their sheep. Jacob asked: "Where are they from?"
"They will," they said.
"Do you know Laban?" asked Jacob.
"Yes," they replied. "Look, here comes her daughter Rachel with her flock of sheep."

Jacob takes the stone out of the well.

When Jacob saw Rachel with his uncle Laban's sheep, he went and took the stone from the well so the sheep could drink. Then Jacob kissed Rachel and told her who she was. She was very moved, went to her house and told her father, Laban, what happened.

Knowing Jacob and his uncle Laban.

Laban was very happy that Jacob stayed at his house. And when Jacob told her that he wanted to marry Rachel, Laban was glad. But he asked Jacob to work in his field seven years for Rachel. Jacob did this, because he loved Rachel so much. But when it was time for the wedding, do you know what happened?

Laban gives Jacob his eldest daughter instead of the youngest.

Laban gave his eldest daughter, Leah, to Jacob, instead of Rachel. When Jacob agreed to work for Laban for another seven years, Laban also gave Rachel his wife. In those times, God allowed men to have more than one wife. But now, as the Bible shows, you should only have one.
