THE NEGATION OF PETER

54 And taking him, they led him away, and led him to the house of the high priest. And Pedro followed him from afar. 55 And when they had kindled a fire in the middle of the courtyard, they sat down around it; and Peter also sat among them. 56 But when a maid saw him sitting by the fire, she noticed him and said, "This one was with him too." 57 But he denied it, saying: Woman, I do not know him. 58 A little while later, seeing another, he said: You are also one of them. And Pedro said: Man, I'm not. 59 About an hour later, another affirmed, saying: Truly this one was also with him, because he is a Galilean. 60 And Peter said: Man, I do not know what you say. And immediately, while he was still talking, the rooster sang. 61 Then the Lord returned and looked at Peter; and Peter remembered the word of the Lord, who had said to him: Before the cock crows, you will deny me three times. 62 And Peter, going out, wept bitterly. "Luke 22: 54-62

Those of us who are like Pedro, always try to do the best, but we screw up. Pedro failed many times, but not with malice, but because he loved the Master, and wanted to do the best. You have also wanted to do something with the best intentions, you have tried to please others and look good, but no matter how hard you try, you often fail. Peter had the heart of a child, he wanted to surprise Jesus. This caused that, when he denied him, Jesus went to look for him; And the only thing the Master asked was: Do you love me? He did not ask why he sank in the water, why he drew his sword; I ask him if, despite everything, I still loved him. Jesus knew that Peter's heart was one full of love, and that, as humans, many times, with good intentions, we do the wrong thing.

In these verses, a prophetic word is fulfilled; Jesus had told Peter that, before the cock crowed, Peter would have denied him three times. Peter walked through that difficult moment in the life of our Lord Jesus Christ, without realizing that he would hear a sound that would mark his life. The rooster's sound is a very particular one. Jesus chooses a peculiar sound to mark the time of Peter's life. It is not the cutest sound; There are beautiful singing birds; The nightingale, the canaries; The song of the rooster is not so spectacular, it is a rustic sound, half broken; One might wonder why he sings; Having nightingales by his side, daring to sing is something spectacular. But the difference is that the song of the nightingale entertains you, but that of the rooster wakes you up. And in our lives, we all need a day when the rooster crows. Some people like to entertain themselves with beautiful songs, with messages that sound good in your ears; But there are other messages that you have to hear that wake you up. Maybe it's not the most beautiful song, it's not the most beautiful sound, but something happens when you hear a rooster anywhere in the world; Wherever you are, when the rooster sings, you know something: It's time to wake up; There is a new beginning, a new day, and glory to God that one day the rooster sang for your life and you woke up to understand that you had to give your life to the Lord because, if not, you were going to continue living your life asleep in the world; Glory to God for the roosters that sing! May these messages be like the rooster in your life; That every time you receive one, do not read what you want to read, that maybe the message does not seem so nice, so nice, but that you hear the cock singing in your life.

We all need a rooster to sing in our lives because, if not, we will spend our lives entertained, thinking we are well, when we are not. Surely, Pedro had no bad intention; When he denied the Master, he could think: "Master, if I said it was yours, they were going to kill me, what would happen to my family? They were going to arrest me with you. "Behind all, there was Peter's good desire to do something good for the Master, but everyone in his life has to listen to the rooster sing. The cock does not have the most beautiful sound, but it has a sound with a purpose beyond entertaining you: It is the announcement of a new day, a new season, a new moment; That cock was announcing a new time. Everyone heard that rooster sing, but for each one it had a different meaning. For Peter, he marked his mind with guilt because he had failed the Master, he had made a mistake; But for the world, spiritually, that song meant a new time, a new day, the day where our Lord Jesus Christ was going to be crucified; That cock marked that a new era arrived where the world would be free. That cock was heard by Judas and he was hanged, other people heard him and he did not care, Pedro heard it and did what he had to do: He regretted the mistakes he had made; And that cock marked, not the end of Peter, but a new beginning of a new day.

Today, we ask God to have a rooster that sings in your life, that awakens you to the reality that there is a new day for you, a new season for your life, that no matter what you have done, what has happened In your life, there is a rooster that is singing that tells you that a new day has begun, a new dawn, a new time.

Of course, Pedro had to choose now; Because, the painful thing, the hard part of that sound, was that every day I was going to listen again. Every morning, when Pedro got up, he would hear that sound; And Peter had to make a decision, he had to choose that day and each morning between making the same mistake or changing his life with the new opportunity that God was giving him. Your worst mistake is not the one you commit, but the one you repeat. Errors are not your problem, the problem is to repeat the same mistakes; And for many, every morning, the rooster sings, giving them a new opportunity, telling them that there is a new time, a new season; The question is whether you are going to take advantage of that moment, that morning, each day that God gives you, so as not to repeat the mistakes of the past, so as not to arrive at the same place where you are today. Every morning, Pedro had to listen to the rooster's sound, and he had to decide. In the same way, today and every morning, you have to decide if you repeat the error of yesterday, or take advantage of this new opportunity.

We ask God to have a rooster that sings in your life, that makes you realize that you have to change, that there is a sound that awakens you; Hopefully it is not a tragedy, a problem that awakens you; I hope it's a message like today's. Hopefully it is not divorce, financial failure, illness, the death of a loved one; Hopefully it is just a message that makes you reflect and change and say: I have to repent, I can not live this same mistake again. And the great thing about this is that the rooster sings for us every day. Every morning the rooster sings for you, to give you a new opportunity.

Dear parishioners

Happy Sunday of resurrection

"To be a Christian is to be a witness to the resurrection of Jesus, and it also means overcoming poverty, which is death, something inhuman, contrary to the will of God. If poverty is contrary to the will of God's life, fighting against poverty is a way of saying yes to the kingdom of God. "

Jesus allowed Peter to deny him because he had a Plan for him, to preach the gospel, to be a faithful witness and even later and believe me that was like AWARD Jesus allowed him to die as a martyr crucified on a cross.

This sad episode in Peter's life contains a lesson: Even a person with faith and devotion to God can be vulnerable if he is not well prepared to face unexpected tests or temptations. May Peter's experience serve as a warning to all God's servants.

While pride or self-sufficiency is the weapon used by the enemy to make many fall. For this reason, when we are self-sufficient we deny the Lord, because we believe that we do not need His help.

Before pride is pride, and before the fall the lofty spirit (Proverbs 16:18).

This is a great lesson to all of us Christian, no matter what we can be tempted to betray your Maker, so we should be vigilant.
