Song of Songs 1: 15-17
15 Behold, you are beautiful, my friend;
Behold, you are beautiful; Your eyes are like doves.
16 Behold, you are beautiful, my beloved, and sweet;
Our bed is made of flowers.
17 The beams of our house are cedar,
and the artisans.
2.1-14- I am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys.
2 Like the lily among the thorns
This is my friend among the maidens.
3 Like the apple tree among the wild trees,
This is my beloved among the young men:
Under the shadow of the desired one I sat down,
And its fruit was sweet on my palate.
4 He took me to the chamber of wine,
And his flag over me was love.
5 Sustain me with jars,
corroborate me with apples;
Because I'm sick with love.
6 Your left is under my head,
And his right embraces me
This brief series of amorous compliments constitutes a communication model and reveals the intimate nature of a love dialogue. It is notorious that the language of love puts an end to all hostility in dialogue, because it speaks of a shared life and exalts the communion of those who love each other.
Love is something of life or death, a personal matter; Without the love of the one you love, you feel alone and incomplete, hungry for love. That is why God constituted marriage as a covenant of love between man and woman. Maintaining moral purity until marriage is the key to founding a solid Christian marriage, and in this love poetry, marriage is represented as an established force to achieve success.
In verse 7 "I conjure you" appears and appears four times with variations and summarizes the central theme of the song. The urgent message says that an illegitimate love should not be awakened or stimulated. In other words, there is no true love without self-control and ethical responsibility.
A poetry made song. The analogy that is made of the love of God with marriage is very beautiful. Thanks for sharing @elion.
God bless you.
