Greetings to the whole community.

Sometimes Christians see obedience as the way to avoid the negative consequences of disobedience. It seems to them that obedience is a burden and they do not value it as the path to blessing.

But God always wanted our journey of faith to be a great adventure, animated by our love for Jesus Christ. Obedience consists in expressing our love for God and our trust in God, not in avoiding unpleasant consequences. For that reason, John can say that "this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments and that his commandments are not burdensome" (1 Jn 5: 3).

When we place our trust in the omnipotence of the Lord and act according to its indications, life acquires meaning and purpose. We do not have to fear the future, because God already knows the result of our obedience and we can trust in his promise, that He works so that all things will help us for good (Romans 8: 28). So, we do not understand how he does it, we can have full certainty that the Lord makes us go through all kinds of circumstances that lead us to his perfect purpose for our life. However, if we stop obeying due to an erroneous desire for security, we reject the opportunity for God to demonstrate his incredible power in us.

The small decisions that we make daily to submit ourselves to the will of God may seem insignificant at that moment, but they lead us to walk with Him for a lifetime. Like your children, we must ask you to direct our steps every day. "What do you want me to say about this, Lord?" Or, "What is the best decision at this time?" We must learn to listen to our heavenly Father and remain sensitive to the peaceful voice that guides us step by step in the course of each day. Isaiah tells us: "Then your ears will hear behind your back a word that says: This is the way, walk through it, and do not lie on the right hand, or turn to the left hand" (Isaiah 30:21).

When we keep our minds focused on Him, we begin to understand the importance of our decisions and how He guides us along the adventure of following the path of His will. Ultimately, this understanding will lead us to a satisfying and meaningful life, walking with the Lord and receiving the best of Him for us.

When you wake up and consider the day that awaits you, what will be your next step of obedience? Whatever direction you receive from God, trust Him and do exactly what He tells you. He will be very happy to have done it.
