"The way God speaks to us."

Greetings to the whole community.

There have been different ways, means and methods that God has used over the years to speak to his people.

In the garden of Eden, he spoke directly with Adam and Eve, meeting with them in the freshness of the day (Gen. 3: 8). But after they were expelled from the garden because of their disobedience, God used other forms of communication: direct revelation, dreams and visions, the words of the prophets and others. Today, God's main form of communication with his people, although it is not the only one, is his written Word, the Bible. But he will also use the circumstances of life to teach us His precepts, and also the wise and pious counsel of men and women whose lives are dedicated to Him. He also speaks to us through His Spirit in us. The Holy Spirit bears witness to the reality of God.

In Exodus 31:18 we read: "And he gave Moses when he had finished speaking with him on Mount Sinai, two tables of testimony, tables of stone written with the finger of God."

God has always given great value to the written Word. In fact, the Hebrews were among the first on earth to have an alphabet, which allowed them to write documents. For centuries, the reading of the Torah (the first five books of the Old Testament) has been a bastion of worship in the synagogue.

The early church received the counsel of God in oral and written form. The Gospel accounts record the life and words of Jesus, while much of the rest of the New Testament consists of letters from the apostles addressed to different groups of believers.

Why so much trust in the Bible?
Because the Word of God is his inspired message, alive and active for his people (Heb 4:12). In 2 Timothy 3: 16-17 we read: "All Scripture is inspired of God, and is useful for teaching, for correction, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, so that the man of God may be forgiven, fully prepared for all. work ".

The psalmist recognized the importance of knowing and obeying the Word of God when he wrote: "Your word is a lamp for my feet and a light for my way" (Ps 119: 105). Centuries later, the apostle Paul referred to the written Word as a weapon to be used in the spiritual battle: "And take ... the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God" (Ephesians 6:17). . The Word of God is undoubtedly an unbreakable anchor in storms. And it is through the inspiration of the Spirit of the Lord and the Scriptures that He actively communicates with us today.

The bible is the basis of what God has spoken for our life, if we believe that God is speaking to us through other methods, it has to go in harmony with the word of God, not against, God can not contradict himself .

God can also speak to us through our situations. Thank you for the word.
