Scammers today utilize many methods to scam a person out of precious bitcoins

Some of the more obvious scams in 2018 were basically the same from 2017, 2016... and so on.

• High Yield Investments
• Cloud Mining
• ICO

Yeah, It's tough sometimes in CryptoLand - it's almost like your not an actual Bitcoiner unless you've lost some coins over the years.
Well, if that is the basic metric - I must be a master!

Taking a trip down memory lane is sometimes painful.

CRYPTSY

My worst losses came from the Cryptsy Exchange collapse scam. When Big Bad Vern stopped withdraws and trapped everyones bitcoins for a month before going offline and getting arrested...
The other came from the Cryptsy marketed cloud mining Mintsy - that apparently got hacked within 3months of opening...
Yeah, if anyone here remembers the Mintsy hack, it's one you can't forget. The hackers wiped the website but left up a looped recording of this

Combined Losses = 0.5btc ~ $200 at the time

Other loses came from crappy investments into ICO's. Obviously 2018 was bad, but some 2017 projects that were promising the world came up soo short from the original plan that they are basically a scam.
Lets just put it this way - "Give me $10Million for a state of the art exchange - It's already better than Bittrex and Poloniex, and only needs the final touch to make this dream real!"
So, a $10 million ICO and 2 years later and the investors are left wondering what happened when the shittiest of shitty exchanges launches with billions of bugs...

I would honestly say that the 2017 ICO's ended up being worse as my Bitcoin was invested during the run-up and subsequently ended up worth less bitcoins now and way less dollar value.
Anyways, Now that I shared some of my losses...
