My dad's friend who deal with land sales and stuff got a call from a strange number telling him that they knew he specializes on land sales...he asked how they got his number and they told him that a friend of theirs recommended him to them.
So this was what they told him...they said their company which was in another state in that same country wanted to purchase a land worth 500 million naira. The deal sounded legit so they fixed a date for the buyers to come to the state where my dads friend reside to see the land and do every necessary transaction.
On the day they were suppose to arrive, my dads driend got a cal from them..they told him that the money they money they wabted to use in buying the land has being ceased by custom officials (they were the people incharge of things coming in from one state to another or one country to another) but that the officials didnt know that they were with money because they hid it in a fridge which was now with the officials. ..The scammers toldd my dad friend that the custom officials requested for the sum of 300 thousand naira or else they will open the fridge. The men told my dad friend that they had no cash on them and that they wanted him to send them the money so that when they all meet they will be able to pay him back with enough interest.
After running around and borrowing from friends my dad inclusive, he sent them the money only for him to try the number they used to communicate with him and found out that the line no longer went through..he'd being scammed with alot of debts on him.
Its was when my dad approached him for his money that he told us what happened..its was a sad experience.
