Perhaps this story will bring some mocking and derision, but that is OK. I am coming forward because I got burned, and this is for current and future NEWBS that might be tempted. If my Fellow STEEMIANS choose to make fun of me, it's all part of my "lumps" so to speak. Let the jokes and barbs commence, but I must tell my story...
I "invested" into bitcoingolem.com (website is DOWN, btw) to the tune of <2.4 btc, or ~$3,300 U$D. House Money, I still kept back a substantial portion of my 600%+ return I got from selling my DAO Tokens that I bought in the crowdfunding effort. Basically, I wasted a large chunk (just over 1/2) of my gains. Easy come, easy go, as they say. But the real WARNING is this:
https://btcparadise.biz/?a=home (DO NOT "INVEST"!!!) is basically a sister website to BTC Golem. Looks like the same web hosting and/or page editors, very similar modus operandi, and offering some fantastic returns. "bitcoinGOLEM" had higher "payouts" but a very similar overall structure. This HAS to be a scam, returns, while more realistic, are just too good. Plus, the "company" is emerging just as GOLEM has expired, like the predecessor before it. These guys (guy) have links to messages and forums that pump up prospects with "posters" that claim they are "paying" and indeed, I did get 2 small payouts from my "hourly" that went back to my coinbase account, totaling some $4.xx U$D. Then it all stopped.
AVOID THIS OUTFIT and anything like it!
If it sounds to good to be true, IT IS TO GOOD TO BE TRUE!
Here's a screen shot of GOLEM, in 4 hours I had "increased my investment" by a factor of 5...
OK, let the floggings begin... ;)
If anyone has any links to other 'beware of scams threads' I will cross link there, I am willing to help anyone avoid losing hard earned COIN!
(edited to remove out of context image)
Here's another link from an unsolicited email for a similar "investment" I got, adding it to the Beware list :-/ GOLEM sells your info, I guess I am a likely mark now that I took the bait :p

The website's FAQ is replete with piss-poor English and grammar. GRRRrrr...
