Candle Fireworks

Experiments you can do with your children at home, enjoy, play and learn.

Equipment and ingredients:

  • A candle
  • Match box or any lighter
  • Citrus fruit peels of several kinds (Orange, Lemon, Mandarin or Pomela)

The Experiment:

Light the candle.
Hold the piece of the citrus fruit peel in both hands (see the photo), while the exterior side is in front of the candle light.
Squeeze the peel with close to the flame.
You can see the small Etheric oil droplets sprinkling from the peel. As the oil droplets touches the flame you get the reaction between them.
The nice result is boosting flames.
Do the same with several kinds of citrus fruits in order to compare the size of the flames between them
