Science vs. Spirituality: How to maximize energies of our body?

To maximize our physical energies there are three activities that we must take care of:

1. Food      2. Activity     3. Rest

1. Food

We are nothing but collection of five elements that we have gathered from this planet - Air, Water, Earth, Fire and Space

a.    Food should digest within 3 hours

Whatever food we eat it becomes part of ourselves in the process of digestion, we must be consciously notice how quickly it happens.

Any food that we eat if it lasts more than three hours that means we have eaten bad food, therefore either it must be avoided or reduced in quantity. If the food is completely digested within three hours that means your system can handle that food very efficiently,  it may not be the best food but at least something that your system is able to process it.

b.    Timing between meals should be 5-6 hours

Between two full meals we should create a gap of 5-6 hours and in between there is no ingestion, we will see the cleansing process in the system on the Cellular level.

This cleansing of the system on cellular level is most important and significant for a healthful life.  So between meals there must be a 5-6 hours of space.

c.    3 hours gap between evening meal and sleep

After the evening meal before we go to bed there must be atleast 3 hours of gap. Why 3 hours? Cus during those three hours the food should be completely out of the system.

If one goes to bed with food still in the stomach, a certain level of inertia is generated in the body.  Physiologically, this inertia is accelerating towards death, and death is the biggest and the ultimate inertia.

Apart from generating inertia, heavy stomach bag creates pressure on the other organs in the abdomen region.  This might block blood flow in other parts of the body resulting in other health issues.

2.  Activity

If we do not have time for yoga, we should atleast at the minimum involve ourselves in light activities that our body is designed to do, i.e.

  • Bending forward
  • Bending backward
  • Twisting sideways - by the waist

This much activity must happen. It does not matter if we are doing this in form of yoga, or Gym or Aerobics, but this basic physical activity must happen.

Although Yoga is said to be the most optimum and scientific way of doing any exercise. But we we cannot make any time for that we must make sure that we bend forward, bend backward, twist both ways and squat so that stretching of  the spinal cord will happen. This much activity on the daily basis will ensure that neurological problem do not occur as we age.

3. Rest

The amount of rest an individual needs is determined by various factors. One important factor is type and the volume of food that we eat.

We must eat food that makes us feel light but not heavy. Its an individualistic choice, and one must experiment with ourselves that what type of food gives us heaviness and what type of food will leave you light and agile.

If we make sure that 40% of our food intake is fresh vegetables and fruits, which are easily  we will see lightness in the body will follow.  This happens because what the body needs is restfulness; restfulness is not necessarily sleep.  Our body can be in the state of rest or agitation even as we sit or stand. If you are in the lively state of restfulness, the amount of sleep that our body actually requires will come down.
