Similar conclusions were reached by other organizations that conducted an analysis of the temperature dynamics. NASA specialists placed the year 2017 on the second place in the list - the difference arose because of differences in methods of counting. At the same time, scientists of both organizations agreed that 2016 was the hottest in the history of observations. Also in 2017 entered the top three according to the version of the World Meteorological Organization and the Meteorological Service of Great Britain.

NOAA specialists found that the average near-surface temperatures of land and ocean in 2017 exceeded the average value of the 20th century by 0.84 ° C. The average temperatures of the planet continuously "overtake" this indicator for 40 years, since 1977. At the same time, the six warmest years fall on the period from the beginning of the 2010s.
