The spoon test – remove some of the coating on the back of your tongue with a plastic spoon. A minute later evaluate its odor.

The tissue test – wipe the back of your tongue with a clean tissue. Evaluate its odor after 4.-50 sec.

The dental floss test – clean the gap between your teeth with odorless dental floss. Evaluate its odor after 4.-50 sec.
- If the dental floss is shaded yellow, you have plaque on your teeth.
- If the dental floss is shaded red, you have bleeding gums.
