If the food that you eat stays in your mouth and collects bacteria, which can cause bad breath. Food collected between the teeth, on the tongue and around the gums can also result an unpleasant odor.

Here are the main reasons for bad odor in your mouth




The wrong toothbrush

How can you find out


There are 3 methods

The spoon test – remove some of the coating on the back of your tongue with a plastic spoon. A minute later evaluate its odor.

The tissue test – wipe the back of your tongue with a clean tissue. Evaluate its odor after 4.-50 sec.

The dental floss test – clean the gap between your teeth with odorless dental floss. Evaluate its odor after 4.-50 sec.

  • If the dental floss is shaded yellow, you have plaque on your teeth.
  • If the dental floss is shaded red, you have bleeding gums.
