Hurricane Irma is now barely a Category 1 Hurricane. The sustained winds are now at 75 mph at maximum and it has now passed by the Tampa Bay area and is heading northwest towards Georgia and Alabama. Here is the latest advisory from the National Hurricane Center:
Comment: Overall, I think we were lucky that the hurricane did not take the path along the coast but instead it went inland. That weakened the hurricane significantly and no major cities got the northeastern part of the hurricanes eyewall at Category 3 level or higher.
