Light Tavel In Straight Lines, Except on Eclipse Day

Well, I was taught that Light travels in straight lines,
And it seems that this value is still in full effect according to this wikipedia...

Yet, on Eclipse day, according to NASA, the light travel 'thru' the moon like if the moon was a lens...

I just love it... So far the globe model isn't confirmed by any means...

But without this NASA trick, how could they explain why the projected shade is so small compare to the moon size...
