So what about water?

You forgot to mention water. The earth heating up will cause more water to evaporate. It is actually water gas that could exponentially warm the earth. However, this is the area with the biggest controversy, because maybe, maybe this water gas will actually cool the earth a bit. This controversy is why there are still debates if the earth will heat up or if it won’t. But do we want to take the gamble?
