Well funny you should say this, I had this same theory. Although after researching lot's of different 'causes' I think my opinion still lies with genetics. More research needed I think

Yes. Genetics plays a great role. Most times, the hair follicles has to be genetically sensitive to DHT for it to cause hair loss.
