We are made of star-stuff

The origin of such illustrious words was Carl Sagan, an astronomer and scientific disseminator skeptical and faithful defender of the scientific method that never stopped dreaming, because in addition to being a pioneer of exobiology he was promoter of the search for extraterrestrial intelligent life through the SETI project.

This project promoted the sending of messages to space. These messages are intended to contact with possible extraterrestrial civilizations, with the intention of being able to bring human culture to all of them. Surely, who is reading this post, know the famous COSMOS TV serie that starred Carl Sagan, which us into the universe in a personal journey and which have made a new TV serie inspired and titled in the same way.

Carl Sagan was not lying when he said that we are stardust. This is one of the most beautiful truths of the universe, our body is formed by 97% stellar dust, which are the elements from which the stars are formed (carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, oxygen, phosphorus and sulfur). In short, we are formed from the same thing that the stars are formed, elements that thousands and thousands of years ago collapsed and created life.

In the beginning of times, all that existed were simple hydrogen atoms, which gave rise to the stars after a long and complex process that took place within the stars to millions of degrees, thus forming the other elements that are the basis of our own existence at the cellular level. Without the stars we simply would not exist, neither you, nor me, nor anyone else. Nothing.
