According to the Dr Rupert Sheldrake the Science Delusion is the belief that science already understands the nature of reality in principle leaving only the details to be filled in. It is also the default view of educated people of today.
Dr Sheldrake points out that there is a conflict between science as a World View and science as a Method of inquiry.
The science as a Method of Inquiry is a methodological inquiring through the use of hypothesis, experimental evidence and critical discussion. For this reason, science is a progressive system of discovery.
Science as World View is to see the world through the lenses of untestable ”truths”. The World View of seeing the world has become increasingly dogmatic.
Since the 19 century, the scientific view has been dominated by materialism - the doctrine that the only reality is matter or physical reality. Today it is the only framework for scientific inquiry and it is very restrictive. The framework determines what research can be done and how funds are distributed. The restrictive World View of science limit innovation and in the last 20 years only incremental improvements happened - no new innovation.
To understand the limited world view of materialistic science, Dr Sheldrake points out the 10 basic dogmas which scientist never questions. These dogmas are taken for granted to be the truth and the only truth in the materialism is a belief system.
- Nature is mechanical - machine like (universe, animals, plants, etc)
- Matter is unconscious
- The laws of nature are fixed
- Total amount of matter and energy is always the same
- Nature is purposeless - evolution has no purpose or direction
- Biological inheritance is material
- Memories are stored materially inside your brain
- Your mind is nothing but the activity of your brain
- Psychic phenomena is illusory
- Mechanistic medicine is the only kind that works
Dr Rupert Sheldrake was invited to talk on TED Talk about his book where he explains his opinion. After his talk, his video was taken down by TED Talk, but published again by other sources.

I think that allmost everything the modern mainstream science teaches us is a lie and people dont know anything about the real nature of reality. The fact is that what we see is only frequencies and vibrations called visible light and that visible light makes up only 0.5% of what there actually is.

I don't know who this Sheldrake is but science is defined as a method of inquiry.
Dogmas have no relation to science at all - doctor got them out of his head

Agree, but people like to create these dogmas which become unquestionable and guide all thinking.

Sheldrake was always an interesting thinker. I always enjoyed the Trilogues with Ralph Abraham & Terence McKenna. Sheldrake & McKenna would take turns blowing one another's minds with the last thing he said about the nature of reality and/or consciousness.
