Scientific Evidence Shouldn't Dictate Your Opinion

Here is a fellow biologist tearing astrobiology a second arsehole. Mate, you just bought into the NASA meme due to the hype of sci-fi. Tyson pushed this like never before...and NASA is all for military research, not "searching for signs of life for the good of humanity". Be less gullible.

The article.

Excerpt from that article:

"As a final note, I just want to say that my negative attitude towards astrobiology comes out of a desire to see it succeed. Scientific astrobiological studies (i.e. anything that doesn’t mention extraterrestrial life) are genuinely great and cutting edge. "

Well duh, I am writing an article about this now because you seem to confuse me with lunatics that are against science.

Astrobiology can succeed if first biology takes it there. more on the coming article.

No, i'm saying that you are dilettante. Can dilettantes be harmful? Yes, they can especially when they begin to decide what disciplines are worth and what aren't.

There were huge problems in the USSR because of the dilettantes. There were oppressions against genetics because of dilettantes that has called them pseudoscientists and pests on the body of science. Next step was to ban cybernetics as a pseudoscience they even started to call that discipline as a "imperialistic whore". You should ask yourself if you have enough qualification and information on the matter to put a shit on it.

And who gets to decide? Academic authority? and based on what? You do have issues with authority after all. You seem to crave it.

irrelevant. you are now effectively sensational.

Who gets to decide. Obviously not dilettantes like you.

I have no any issues with authorities but you have as far as I can see))) You have some strong negativism towards academicians. I don't have such. I can't even imagine for what reasons i should hate academicians like Leonhard Euler, Lev Landau or Richard Feynmann. You can read more about them if those names new to you.

For example, in USSR in order to became an academician someone should have made an outstanding contribution to the science. Brilliant minds. It's strange for me that someone can accuse me because i admire them. This is sick.

You obviously have issues with English comprehension. not going to continue this. Like i said, level up.
