Stripes of Zebra
Everyone think of black and white stripes whenever they think or hear about zebras.
But no one knew why they had such weird stripes on their body.

Arguments and researches of stripes of zebra that lives in Africa for over 150 years.

Pretty lately at 2014, conclusion to reason of stripes have been made.
There were two arguments before:

  1. To hide from the predators (protected color)
  2. More likely to visible to predator cause of the stripes

But both were wrong, according to researches and labs, stripes were adapted to zebras to get vampire flies away from them.

Zebras' reason of evolving in stripes was because they self-judged that getting attacked from vampire flies were more dangerous than getting eaten by predators

Scientists had hard time solving this mystery, I think scientists' main ideas were focused on predators. This is understandable because like some butterflies, they have pattern in their wings to scare predators away.

If you can think other ways, you might discover other mysteries that have not yet been solved.
