Andrew McWilliams, an art-technologist based in New York, who was diagnosed with type I diabetes in 2014. This turn of events forced McWilliams to start paying attention to his health. As a result of his diagnosis, McWilliams began wearing a body sensor linked to a mobile device, which he cobbled together using various open-source software.
McWilliams leveraged his health predicaments to build an art installation - a visualization of his bodily processes. In this video, McWilliams draws parallels between his acknowledgement and struggle with diabetes, and humanity's struggle and acknowledgement of the collective condition we call climate change.
