The Truth About Bathroom Dryers – They Are Very Unhygienic

in science •  7 years ago

Bathroom dryers are certainly useful and more ecological compared to paper towels. But a new study shows that your freshly cleaned hands can get a lot of bacteria, fungi, and other nasty stuff from them.

The situation is obviously the worst in public bathrooms. Maybe this will be news to you but whenever someone flushes a toilet the nasty stuff can get up 4.5 meters high. The dryers then suck them in a blow them straight onto your hands. Recently experts from the University of Connecticut put Petri dishes under several dryers and let them blow for 30 seconds. During the analysis, they then found 18 – 60 bacterial colonies. The control Petri dishes that weren’t blown over usually had only a single bacterial colony.

The results were so convincing that the University of Connecticut decided to start to offer an alternative to dryers – the old school, unecological paper towels. Obviously, bacteria and other microbes are all around us and the vast majority of them have no adverse effects. And the immune system actually needs to be subjected to bacteria but when we wash our hands for example before eating we want to get rid of most of them. That means that using a dryer right before that could lead to potential contamination.

really good article!!!

New information! Thanks!

So I was watching some science or news combination of new medicine tech. Anyways , so someone had discovered that if we made things such as that hand dryer out of copper it would be sanitary. They talked about the possibility of changing airport , mall , shopping center railing to copper along with so many other things. But just like the car on the news that gets 1000mpg yes one thousand miles on one gallon of gas will just be like Tesla and free wireless electricity. So copper eh , if you look under a microscope electronic or I am sure any of you with one around the house can test this but when germs or cells in general touch copper it works like a wire and since there is a positive and negative charge in the cell's ZAP! Germs be gone! Unfortunately the loss in the medical field would be such a hard hit they won't do it. We had those band aids with copper and they did silver too but copper is logical and its cheap , and it could stop the spread of germs by such a large factor we could all become such a healthier country let alone world.. Saying this while I have a massive kidney infection and have been sick from a lupus flare up since october and have tubes coming out my body. I am sick of medical insurance companies , hospitals , doctors and the medical board itself wanting to keep us sick for their big houses and nice cars while some of us live a minimal quality life with minimal physical possessions due to spending every extra dime on our health.
As you can see they just want to keep us sick , these studies and posts go back a decade even:

You see that 95-97% of germs if they actually cared about our health everything kitchen ware and the common space outside of your home in public , tables and chairs along with railing everything would be copper.
That damn hand dryer , along with the sink before hand ( no pun intended ) if it was made of copper would be germ free.
