Myths in the Sky: the Lynx and Little Lion

The Lynx

For the first time it was placed on heaven's crust by J. Hevelius between the Great Bear and Auriga in the region of faint stars. Hevelius noted that only a person who enjoys the very keen sight of a lynx can make these stars out.

The Little Lion (lat. Leo Minor)

This constellation was formed by J. Hevelius at a place which Egyptians considered to be sacred and which belonged to God Ptah.
