I sometimes wonder if the flat earth thing is a inside joke with flat earth folks. Now im not one, i mean how can it be when its hollow ;) lol. But IMHO flat earth is a symptom of the secrecy, quality and consistency of information fed to the public.
Saying the earth is flat is like the ultimate questioning of the whole paradigm taught to the masses. Like they are hacking the shizzle out of their own mental programming. I mean if you can disbelieve something so fundamental then there really is nothing stopping you in creating your own paradigm and beliefs. And beliefs are what hold society together.
Many folks are quick to call them idiots and crazy for believing humans are the centre of everything, living on a flat morality testing ground and fully immortal. I would say why are not these same people standing out side the many religious buildings and temples calling those inside the same for believing in omnipresent all powerful gods and other such deity's that control everything and judge everyone.
When we are clearly IMHO animals running around a meaningless spherical rock in the vastness of space that evolved from primordial slime with no real purpose other than base survival and accumulating as much BTC as possible =).
But really we should not judge folks for believing something. If its hurting none and making them happier all the best to them.

Yeah, I've noticed Steemit to be a bit heavy on conspiracy theorists. It's interesting to read sometimes, but things like the flat earth theory to me are just too weird to even consider. Same with the chemtrails.

I think all of this weird stuff is making a comeback just because of how the mainstream has treated the topic and made science out to be much more than it can be. They want it to replace philosophy itself.
There's this false belief that if we can just put a lot of tax money into science (biased, state vetted scientists) we will eventually cure religion....

I don't think religion is curable by anything really. I think it's human nature to need someone or something to blame or to make sense of it all. Many more people now have put their faith in science, but science can't explain everything and I don't think it will ever be able to. It's easier to give some unknown thing so much power and then blame it for everything good/bad/unexplainable. Makes life easier to cope with. Though I'm not sure how, logically speaking, you could justify it to your own brain. But logical thinking isn't as common as some might hope.

I don't think he's ego knows a lot. But I too sometimes get tired with the Trump mentions in places where there is seemingly little connection.
Is it any wonder that the U.S. is so divided when each side listen to their own "news" and comedy explain how they are supposed to think and never considers the alternative points of view fully, but essentially resorts to calling the other side crazy? It will be interesting to see how many years it takes for all of this to finally calm down.

It's enough to know he's bad, but sadly enough even his tweets are misconstrued by both media and those seeking to always make things worse than they are. That both confuses and actually ends up antagonizing both sides.

I find it hard to believe that people actually believe this crap. The ancient Greeks actually had a pretty good approximation for the circumference of the earth. There are photographs of earth from outer space. All of the other planets are round. Gravity tends to make planets spherical.
If you watch the video carefully, you will notice that the bubble in the level does move a little. But here's the kicker: the small corrections in the course are what keeps the level level.
