First, it was #FeesMustFall and now #ScienceMustFall, wait what!? Because as we all know science is the construct of the white man and western modernity. A student leader of the #FeesMustFall movement had the following to say: “Science as a whole is a product of Western modernity, and the whole thing should be scratched off”. She continued by saying: “We have to restart science from an African perspective, from our perspective, of how we experienced science.” These are the people who will be our future leaders, doctors, and scientists, and they want to do away with science and “restart” it?! For the love of God please stop the bus, I want to get off. Think I am joking? Watch the video below and be prepared to be amazed at these people’s brutal stupidity and ignorance:
And the second most scary thing other than these people being our future leaders, doctors, and scientists? That she got university entrance to go in the first place and now is wasting space and possibly taking the place of someone else who desperately wanted and needed an education. This takes blatant ignorance and stupidity to a whole new level, and that is saying a lot considering some of the stupid shit that has been uttered during this whole social movement to get education fees scrapped. I generally try and put myself in the position of the person I am arguing against. But even I must admit that this level of stupidity is beyond my comprehension. Making this more shocking is that someone in a university going there to be educated can make such outlandish statements….
