The statement that electric cars are the future of this industry seems to be an ordinary truism, but it does not change the fact that their producers are still presenting new ideas that are to persuade us to switch to an electric car.
For example, Nissan has come up with a solution that allows owners to avoid parking fees if they choose to share their energy.
The manufacturer has opened the so-called
Pavilion at the Yokohama exhibition, where visitors don't have to pay for parking if they give the building some power from their Leaf cars or other electric vehicles.
Thus, visitors do not have to worry about additional costs (apart from the fact that the car will have to be recharged later, of course) when visiting the Nissan Pavilion to see the new Ariya crossover or a taste of Formula E racing. The whole project is a demonstration of Energy Share technology and Nissan electricity storage,
such as the possibility of using Leaf cars to power houses or city infrastructure during natural disasters.
The company's exhibition, where you can also see connected cars (permanently connected to the Internet) or autonomous driving technology - this one will be open until October 23. So far, however, it is mainly a curiosity for the Japanese, but much wider implications should be expected.
In the future, city authorities may, for example, allow us to share electricity with buildings or parks, and in return eliminate parking fees.
Of course, the owners have to pay the electricity bills, but it still seems to be a convenient and interesting solution.
So far, however, it is not known whether anyone will decide to introduce the idea on a larger scale, for example as part of a pilot program.
