Have you ever wondered a world without electricity in it, which means no light bulb, cable, phones and everything light-able will be non-functional. Would the advancement of technology reach this stage without the discovery of electricity?
The discovery of electricity was the beginning of electricity. Look around you and tell me how important electricity mean to you.
Long before the knowledge of electricity, people were aware of shock from electric fish. Electricus was coined from the Greek word called Amber (refers to properties of small objects after being rubbed) and this gave rise to the English word called Electric and Electricity first seen in Thomas Browne's Epidemica in 1646.
Some of the major contributors to the founding of electricity will be talked about. In 1600, an English Scientist called William Gilbert made a research on electricity and magnetism and distinguished the Iodestone effect from static electricity produced by rubbing amber. Later in the 18th century

Benjamin Franklin conducted an extensive research on electricity selling his properties to fund his work. In June 1752, he attached a metal key to the bottom of a dampened kite string and flown the kite in a storm threatened sky.Sparks jumping from the key to the back of his hand showed that lightening was electrical in nature.

Michael Faraday discovered the foundation of electric motor technology and contributed to the study of electromagnetism and electrochemistry.
After the invention of electricity, the world took a U-turn and this was the beginning of technological. Through the availablity of the electric bulb and circuit. Many inventions were made, namely;
1.Telephone
- Television
- Train
- Airplane, name just a few.
Further invention of the satellite and space rocket all made p[ossible by electricity. Without electricity, will there be electric train used in most part of the world, Smartphones and Laptop. Virtually, every equipment on earth needs electricity to function.
Ask yourself, Is science or technology complete without electricity.
