I Am Hoping To Transfer To A Better Dialysis Center When Available

There was this big hospital being built nearer to us which will possibly give some dialysis service and I am a bit interested in what they will offer to patients in that regard because my current dialysis center is just charging us extra bit by bit until maybe it will be much harder to bear.

I really want to leave my current dialysis center even though I had been in there for many years already. I could not just easily transfer to others because of many factors like distance, the CoViD lockdown, some are charging way more, or others are in full capacity already and could not accept new patients.

In my current dialysis center they had been charging us extra $4 on top of the regular billing because they said that it was for extra precautionary measures like the disinfection, PPEs, etc. due to the CoViD pandemic which is why it is getting harder and harder to pay.

Not all patients are paying the extra but only those that have coughs, tuberculosis, have fever that could be from infections other than the CoViD and symptoms of the CoViD even though most patients normally coughs due to the fluids in the lungs for most cases.

I just belong to those patients that are being charged extra thanks to the pulmonologist who is responsible in putting me in that batch.

Thankfully I can still pay because I have still funds that I am earning to make me able to pay. But hospitals should not take extra payment because actually if we are using our health insurance they are charging the health insurance extra too compared with the amount that we would pay out of pocket.

What I meant is that they are charging our health insurance 2,500 pesos per treatment plus 500+200 pesos but if we would pay with our own pocket we would only pay 2,000 pesos or something like that.

In other dialysis centers they are not charging extra to patients because guess what our health insurance actually pays the whole amount for the treatment.

SO I really wanted to transfer already but the problem will just be my parents who are now not inclined for me to transfer since I had been with my current hospital for many, many years already and they do not want changes anymore.

But if the billing charge will get more burdensome like they charged more and more then I think it will be time for a change especially if I could see that the new hospital being built currently will offer a better deal for dialysis patients.
