A while back I made this set of Sherlock and Watson bookends. I did them just for myself out of my love for the stories I encountered as a child. Then later on re-read as an adult discovering that they had not been diminished in their journey from nostalgia to my current perception of reality.
So, for fun I made these little guys and like just about everything else I make, I decided to put them online for sale. My goal, almost alway, is just to sell enough to cover the cost of materials. To my surprise I've done much better than this and have managed to make a little profit. As an artist this is a super cool, but rare, event.
Reason for this post is I just sold another set and it caused me to think all of what I have written above. This in turn made me think that I'd like to show off a little to continue with the slight artistic ego boost received from the sale.
Much of the fuel that keeps an artist going is appreciation for their work. And I've found that my favorite kind of appreciation comes in the form of a sale, lol. Second to that is showing off what has been selling.
Here are a couple of pictures. I hope you enjoy them.
