The common tern (Sterna hirundo) is a seabird that has been in severe decline for many years.
There are several reasons for this. One reason is that small fish that the common tern is dependent on have diminished greatly
in the later years.
Another reason is that the common tern is exposed in the nesting places of birds of prey and predators.
Therefore, few places this bird finds a nesting place.
Here we see a nesting place today. These terns are nesting not far from the houses and human activity, which helps to keep birds of prey and predators as the American mink (Neovison vison) at a distance.
The spread of the American mink in Norway is due to the fact that mink in farms escaped and has formed a viable strain along the coast of the country
I hope the terns on this small island or the reef will bring out their little birds this year.
This so so interesting and informative.

Tern, a very interesting bird, and I am sorry that circumstances are not in her favor. Regarding the lack of fish, I hope that this is a temporary phenomenon. Climate change, changing the Gulf Stream, but, fish, they are able to adapt to new conditions. I often read articles that talk about the risks of complete extinction of those or other fish. But, fish, this is not a robot, which is programmed in a narrow range of actions. I devoted many years to aquarism and many times I had to transfer fish from one condition to another habitat. I raised or lowered the temperature of the water. Increased or lowered the acidity of water, and this, in a small, confined space. The ocean is large, there is plenty of dissolved oxygen in it, it takes time for the heated water to be saturated with this oxygen, the fish will acclimatize. It is the reduction of dissolved oxygen, with an increase in the temperature of the water, that leads to the stress of the fish, who are accustomed to a higher oxygen content. Thank you, my Dear friend @Siggjo, for an interesting plot! Good night to you!

Interesting photo! I've never seen Sterna hirundo :-)
And to the sea not every year I get out, you are lucky
to live in such a natural environment.
Have a nice evening, dear friend @Siggjo
