Every gun owner has specific needs. This Lady wanted a shotgun for home defense, but has little experience with firearms. She has some problems with bone density, so recoil needs to be low, and the mechanism must be simple.
She is also worried about a SHTF scenario, where the same unit would need to double as a hunting weapon.
After some research and review readings, I settled on a unit called a Circuit Judge. It is a 410 shotgun, but it is similar to her handgun; since it is a revolver action too.
For the SHTF scenario, the 45 long colt works in the same mechanism! This is a decent hunting round that will allow her to hunt for food in a SHTF situation. There isn't any game here too big for this combination. It is not a Long range firearm, but should be good as a lot of local hunting distances are 100 yards or less
She is happy with her new toy!
Since she has a revolver now, this new mechanism is not difficult for her to understand.
One other important item to consider is; will this new gun owner be able to use this in self defense? If the answer is no, steer them towards mace or a tazer...no need to provide a firearm to a criminal!
Here is the basic firearm, which was very hard to find. With gun sale numbers setting new highs each consecutive month, she had to go to sixteen online stores to find a single one!
If you look, you can see the Judge pistol in the Center of the image, with a stock and long barrel added. This added weight will further tame the recoil of the Circuit Judge, and helps the longer range uses.
I will bring her to the range soon for training, to help her hit what she aims at! I plan to get her to bring her 357 pistol, for a training session too.
I am teaching her that one box of ammunition, means you bought an expensive paper weight....
Meanwhile, I am looking for more ammo for her locally for both. If I can't find her any due to supply chain depletion; I will give her some from my stock, to get her to a safe level.
Then I can reload a few hundred of each to restock.
So this one fills her needs, but each selection will be different, because there are so many variables.
