CRAFTY CONSCIOUSNESS.
ake today to get a craft done. You can do this by yourself or recruit people for this fun time project. The challenge is that you cannot do anything else while this is taking place. Turn your phones off or on silent. No white noise. No ANY noise except the laughter of your fellow creation crowd.
You can have at any creative process that suggests long periods of focus time: cooking, baking, decorations, gifts, crafts, coloring (yes, coloring) - my fave is “adult” coloring books. Yah filthies, I’m talking about *mandalas (Thanks, Stacy Fisher). You can even fix the house up or jam out on some music as long as it’s a creative process with intent uninterrupted focus for AT LEAST 15 minutes.
Whichever craft you choose to do, have it be something that can get you in the zone. This is a form of meditaiton as long as you don’t have distractions. If your child happens to be one of those distractions, see if you can get them to participate.
Make time for this in your day. If you can’t get to it today, plan in for the next day or next week. This is a great grounding technique that produces something great. Focus keeping yourself in a good mood WHILST creating.
Meditation isn’t always sitting with your eyes closed. As long as you’re in the moment and focusing with positive intent, you’re golden.
