Sepak Takraw is a well-known sport throughout Southeast Asia. It is also known by many other names, such as sepak Raga in Malay and cau may Iin (Vietnam), sipa (Philippines) and ka-taw (Lao). The sport is also known as kick volleyball. However, it's slightly different. The only equipment required for the sport is a net and rattan balls. Players can touch the ball with only their chest, head and feet. Sepak Takraw, which has been played since 15th century, is thought to have originated from the Malacca Sultanate. The International Sepak Takraw Federation governs the sport worldwide. The sport is played between two teams, which are called regus. There are three players on each side. One player is located at either the back or front and is known by tekong.
Indoor and outdoor versions of the game are possible. The tekong serves and then the ball is handed to the players. Players are not allowed to touch the ball more than once. A player can return the ball to the net using any part of their body, other than the shoulder and finger. Each set of 21 points in Sepaktekraw is usually made up of three sets. The winner is the team that has won two sets.
