Mobile court has fined Tk 300,000 for seven companies for producing water without approval. Today, ten people were sentenced to different terms in the capital on Tuesday.
The operation was conducted at the Tejgaon industrial area here today at the initiative of Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) and RAB Head Quarter in Bangladesh. At the time, two factories were closed and about 2,200 zeros were destroyed.
RAB magistrate Sarwar Alam said in the light of the first light, they found that some companies have been distributing water directly to the unhygienic and dirty environment without any refinement. They got the news and conducted an operation in Tejgaon area. During this time seven organizations were identified. Institutions are Jahangir Trade International, Cold Everest, New Life Pure Drinking Water, Future Food and Beverage and three unnamed water-producing companies.
Sarwar said that 10 people were fined for different periods, including Tk 3 lakh for fines. Assistant Director of RAB-2 Shahidul Islam and Assistant Director of BSTI Reazul Haque were present in the operation.
