Eunice, a virgin, is a fresh graduate with a noble character. She is also a born again Christian. She had a humble background from a lovely family and she is the only child of the family. Eunice attended one of the best schools in her community. She is brilliant, intelligent and also beautiful. Eunice is very sociable and thus makes friends easily because of her liberal disposition to life.
People relate well with her especially when they need advice and also for assistance in prayer if need be. She tries her best to please everyone around her even at her own inconveniences. “Eunice is a good person!” That is the commendation she gets from everybody around her. But unfortunately for her, she faces a lot of challenges and has nobody to confide in and she goes on like that doing her things her own way giving herself double assurances that whatever she decides to do, she will never regret it.
This personal resolution remains and she continues solving her problems her own way. When she was fifteen (15) she decided to get more intimate her mother. Her motive was to be able to confide in her some matters she was experiencing. Not so long after this decision, a terrible incident happened and she lost her parents. Alone in her world, again she continued solving matters the best ways known to her. The death of her parents exposed her to a lot of things as a beautiful young girl; boys of her age group harassed her.
Guys she sees as elder brothers and also men that are old enough even to be her father also promised to take very good care of her if only she allows them to have sex with her. As a result of this, Eunice started facing situations that are more challenging with no one to share her thoughts with. Not minding all these pressures, she made up her mind to struggle to train herself.
Eunice was determined to keep her virginity until her wedding night. This determination kept her going; she moved closer to God and prays to God for guidance. Even in her university days, the harassment increased from lecturers and guys in her department. She tried her best and she graduated with a good grade, coupled with positive attitude, behavior and conduct which gave her a lot of recommendations and goodwill from people, despite that, her virginity was intact.
After graduating from the university, she thought of settling down. With this, she started hustling again to make ends meet. Thus, she needed money to start something. While searching for financial support, her path and that of a “Man of God” crossed. The prophet precisely is called Mr. Godey. The man promised to take care of her in the way of the lord. Eunice was glad she finally found a “Man of God” she could confide in and trust with the whole of her heart. The man gave her money with which she started a business and their rapport went on smoothly.
She so much believed in this “Man of God”. As part of their discussion one day, she told the Prophet that she was a virgin and the man took more interest in her. As at this time Eunice was 22 years old and their interaction became stronger until one day Eunice discovered that everything she told Mr. Godey was being heralded either through the prophet’s wife or other church members. She was disappointed but she still respected the “Man of God” especially for spiritual matters. After Eunice discovered that her private matters were public knowledge, she recoiled to her shell and was solving her problems her own ways as she was doing before.
Luckily for Eunice, she was employed as a marketer of a multi-national company. This new job exposed her to several harassments as she needed to meet people to make them clients of her organisation. She experienced harassments from big men and guys who have enough money to spend on her but she rebuffed standing on the determination that she would keep her virginity till her wedding night. She remained friendly to those that stayed back after others had left her when they discovered she was resolute about her determination.
One of those that stood by is Mr. Kenneth. He is married and respects women a lot. Their friendship grew stronger that they became so fond of themselves. Eunice told Kenneth of her plans to keep her virginity till her wedding night. Kenneth was glad to hear this and he encouraged her to do so. They went on with the friendship and emotions begin to sets in. They were alone, indoors, one fateful day after a lot of discussion they were so engrossed that they couldn’t control their emotions and they started kissing. They both wished the kisses never stopped. That was the first heartfelt kiss Eunice ever had, although during her struggle with men in times past she had been forcefully kissed severally.
After that day another level of relationship started where kissing and smooching was a normal phenomenon between the two of them. As days goes by Kenneth discussed issues he faces at home with Eunice and how his wife deprives him of sex and romance. But promised Eunice never to deflower her as that was her pride of womanhood. Their relationship continued and everything went on smoothly.
Eunice enjoys Kenneth company as she now tells him all that goes on in her mind. On everything, she seeks advice as to what to do next in her daily activities. She was glad that he believes in her. Also, Kenneth enjoys her company as this reduces the struggle for sex and romance at home, she accommodates him and gives him all attention.
With time, the relationship went deeper and Kenneth introduced non penetrative sex to Eunice to assuage his sexual urge. Eunice gave in since she will want to do anything to make Kenneth good and Happy. They started that way and soon it became a normal activity also. They both trusted each other so all they do was not protected.
Kenneth’s wife noticed some changes in her husband that she started to suspect that her husband is having extra marital affairs. The prophet also discovered that Eunice was not as close to him as she used to be. Mr. Godey, the “Man of God” called Eunice and told her all he had noticed in her. He also told her that she is far away from God and that she no longer love God as it used to be. Eunice responded that it wasn’t like that. She tried to offer some explanations, but the “Man of God” told her he wanted to test if she really still loves God.
He asked her if there was anything she could not offer to the lord. Eunice ignorantly answered him and said there is nothing she has that she could not give to the lord. The prophet proceeded by telling her that God demanded her virginity and that since she said all that are her’s is God’s that it should not be difficult to release that to God. He further explained the risks of depriving God of what He wants from his daughter. Eunice, out of fear for God and the “Man of God” contemplated giving in since it was God that “demanded” her virginity.
She couldn’t tell Kenneth about this since she didn’t want him to ridicule the “Man of God”. She knew what his response would be to issues like that. She later gave in and Mr. Godey, the prophet and “Man of God” had unprotected sex with Eunice. He didn’t only de-flower her but also exposed her to the fear and risk of contracting infections. For Eunice, the loss of her womanhood pride, her virginity, was the unnecessary burden the incident put on her mind.
Eunice was very sad after the incident, though she couldn’t tell anybody. Not even Kenneth that was the closest to her. Kenneth however noticed the change in her mood. He persuaded her to tell him what she was passing through but Eunice said other things to cover up.
Kenneth wanting to lighten her mood up stated caressing her. Kenneth attempted their usual non-penetrative sex after which he left for his abode.
Few days later Kenneth called Eunice for a lunch date which she accepted happily, she tidied up her work in the office and waited patiently for him. He later came and they set out for lunch. On their way Eunice’s phone rang and low and behold it was her Pastor, the prophet. As the conversation progressed, the prophet accused her of not calling since the incident happened. “Did you regret that you gave the most important thing you have to God?,” he inquired. She said no and apologized for not calling and for also thinking that she has done the wrong thing.
The prophet re-assured Eunice of how sweet she was the last time they had sex and he wanted to have more of her. Eunice’s response was “ok sir” and she ended the call. Her countenance changed immediately and all Kenneth was telling her was just going through the space. Kenneth later discovered her mind was not with him and he needed to know what was wrong with her again. By this time they were already at the restaurant for the lunch.
Kenneth ushered her down from the car and they went into the restaurant. Inside the restaurant, Kenneth looked for a suitable place where they could sit and discuss by this time Eunice was already crying. Kenneth cleaned her tears, he ordered for a drink for the two of them and he gave her all attention. Eunice wanted to talk but tears still rolled down her cheeks again. She started by apologizing to Kenneth that she didn’t carry him along on what she had been going through recently.
She narrated the whole scenario to him with tears in her eyes. Kenneth calmed her down but was very angry that she didn’t carry him along. He kept mute for a long period of time and later said what had happened had happened. He advised that she should avoid the prophet. If possible, she should stop attending his church. He also counsels her to adopt secondary virginity which will protect her from the risks of all STIs.
He also told her that they both need to go for a test to know their HIV status. She agreed to go for the test. Eunice was relieved having shared her challenges with Kenneth. She felt she was alright and better with the insight that she would avoid the prophet. Though, the fear of being infected grows bigger in the hearts of Kenneth and Eunice as days go by. However, Eunice now relishes the knowledge and experience of secondary virginity which she hopes could still keep her going. Repeatedly, Kenneth and Eunice remind each other of the need to get tested for HIV. They jeer at each other all the time with all sense of reflection: “We must get tested for HIV, at least to be sure!” ! The story continues becauses it is a true life story.
