A pattern that exists in many of us is that we are constantly seeking to escape the present moment because we think that the future moment is going to have something more exciting for us. And when you get to the future moment it’s not exciting enough for you, so you’re waiting to get to another future moment. And you can go like this for your whole life. And when you’re on your deathbed you realize you waited your whole life away.
Learn how to surrender to the present moment. You don’t need to fill every single second with noise, with activity. Allow more stillness and more silence into your lives. And a great way to do this is to become aware of your breath, of the movement of your breath. Simply follow your breath.
So, when you’re late for an appointment instead of getting all stressed and caught up in your thoughts, let yourself become still and follow the movement of the breath and let the thoughts go crazy, let the energy in your body move as it wants to.
Because whether you are still in that moment and following your breath or whether you are all stressed out it is not changing the situation of that moment. But what it will change is the future that you are manifesting, because right now and in every moment you are creating your own future based on your level of Consciousness, your level of Presence, your vibration. And the most effective way that you can get yourself ‘on track’ – and by on track I mean aligned with your higher self, aligned with your higher purpose, on the path of your highest joy – is to be connected within yourself to your higher self.
And the way to connect to your higher self is through the stillness, through the heart, through allowing what is here. Bring the Attention into your body. Don’t fight with your emotions, don’t fight with your sensations. If anxiety is here, welcome it. Let yourself feel how it feels in the body. Hold it. It is only when you turn away from your true nature that you cannot cope with the challenges that life presents you. Your true nature, love, has strength and power to hold everything, to hold all experience.
