Life is about to get good...

Have you ever had pride for something that you absolutely have no reason to be proud about? I was in a restaurant a number of years ago in Ukraine. There were many people there around the table and the conversation swung around to what the problem was with the country. One thing that I noted was that many people did not have pride in other people. I asked the question if there was anyone in their country whom they had pride for. While a couple admired the Klitschko brothers they didn't feel a source of pride for them. The one person from the USA in the group (and I still shake my head) admired Donald Trump.
In my case there are many people in Canada whom I have a certain pride for. I explained to the people that we have a process where people of Merit are awarded a medal. I recognize that military and bravery are self-evident why people are rewarded for distinction but what about people who just represent a service to others. The one who I talked about at the time was Mike Holmes - a home builder.
Shania Twain is another. Dedicated to eliminating child hunger, she supports a number of food distribution agencies like food banks and breakfast programs in schools. While she is a beautiful looking and beautiful sounding person, she strives beyond adversity. I hope that she will find that life continues to be good...
