PAPA THE GIVER

@papa-pepper may be many things, but he’s also a giver.

Recently, I was blessed with a whole pile of hops rhizomes. Though I can certainly use a lot, I obviously had some to share too. When I posted about the hops @generikat commented. Since I had previously sent some seeds to @generikat, I knew that @generikat enjoyed gardening and growing things, so I made an offer to send some hops.

LOL! You know me, I am always up for any plants or seeds! I'm going to be propagating lavender soon, would you and mama enjoy some baby lavender plants?

My offer was accepted, but, in typical @papa-pepper style, I decided to go overboard!

BONUS FREEBIES!

I got a nice handful of Golding Hops rhizomes and packaged them.

Then I went out to the woods to get some American Gooseberry cuttings.

I threw in a few Elderberry cuttings too.

And some bare-root Red Mulberry seedlings that I had picked up.

I think that soon we should see a post from @generikat when the package arrives. In the near future, @generikat said some Lavender plants may be heading down my way too, which is very exciting for me.

As I shared in my recent post on getting the most out of your steemit experience there are other levels that we can interact on, and this is just one example. Steemit isn’t just posts, upvotes, STEEM, and comments. It is a thriving and growing community, and I’m blessed to be a part of it! Steem on!

Until next time…

Your generosity is Steemit legend my friend!

I woke up to this:

Reading your post of the sharing of the plants totally returned the smile to my grumbling "so done with the snow" face! Thank you so much! I also have a couple other plants to throw in with the lavender that are totally useful/you might like! Steem on!!

Glad I could cheer you up! Thanks so much for the friendship!

Gooseberry, Elderberry, and Mulberry - This is awesome! This is what Steemit is about!

Thanks! What a great food-share!

Steem on! papa-pepper

Indeed it is!

I'm sure your username should've been @papa-nature :)

And yours should have been @posthunter or @commenthunter! Lol!

Heading back downhill towards the 15K tomorrow as I break the 14.5K! I can smell @cheetah already!! Getting sick of the unlimited posts already if I'm truly honest ... just back to 4/5 posts a day now ... not 12 or 13!! :)

Please stop @ mentioning cheetah. Just say 'cheetah' not '@cheetah'.
Otherwise you're wasting a bunch of time from people who are looking for mentions of cheetah.
Thanks.

I hadn't shifted into complete post overdrive, so it's still below four for Papa each day!

I think I'll keep it there for now, even when people start seeing the money again I'll try to stay cool. Past the 5-6+ posts a day life starts to become un-enjoyable!!

nice post thanks for sharing

Thank you for stopping by and enjoying it!

I would love to get an elderberry cutting if you have more. I can offer scarlet runner beans and a boxwood baby.

We could talk on steemit.chat and see what's possible. It sounds like some good trades could be going on.

Papa is surely a giver, Won one of his contests. Sweet man, he's kind af!
Steem on papa! xD

Nice job winning that contest and thanks for the compliment!

All I've managed so far this Spring is 3 Catawba trees and a couple of Silver Maples.

Giving is one of the oldest, original unchanged words in the English language for a reason. :)

Sweet!
Our gooseberry is growing nicely. Hopefully I'll get to taste some this year! I think there's an indigenous local elderberry. I want to get my hands on it if so.

Excellent! I'll be trying to grow everything that I can at my place!

That's my idea too. Just planted a chestnut and have two more on the way. Wifey's sprouting some dragonfruit, tamarind and a few other things. I suspect much will die, since we are always pushing the limits of our climate. But that's how you find out, right?
I'm still waiting to see what comes back from the crazy winter we had. My 15' tall white mulberry looks like it died back to about 3 or 4'. I'm still waiting, but it's looking like it'll have to be cut pretty aggressively. Four figs still have nada for buds and I'm almost certain the jaboticaba is a goner. The figs might come around though. I checked the roots of one and they were living. We have a boysenberry that's happy here and our thornless blackberry is doing great. Like you, we have some kiwi berries sprouting as well.
Still building and a lot of what's going on this year is recovering from hail and trees freezing before they could hibernate. We'll get there though, and the ones that survive will be stronger for it.

This is awesome! I LOVE this. You're right. Steemit could become an awesome resource for people, or more accurately, the Steemit community. I'm not in a good position to garden right now, but my husband and I did try growing hops at one point. I think it would be lots of fun to get some cuttings from my "crypto-world." Maybe in the future I'll be getting one of your packages :)

I'm glad that you enjoyed it. Talk to some of us later if you get ready to garden!
