My First Shoutout Saturday!!

in shoutoutsaturday •  7 years ago  (edited)

This is an image we set up for a @papa-pepper challenge a while back. It was not a winner, but I still like the message we were trying to convey: Steemians lift up their fellow steemians!

This appears to have started as a challenge with prizes at stake, but it seems to me that the tag has just taken off, even though the contest part is over. Still, @crazybgadventure deserves a shoutout for getting this going! Or maybe I am just too late and don't care, want to do this post anyway... ;)
With that in mind let me say "THANK YOU" to the steemians who have been so helpful to me along the way! Hmmm... Where do I start?!

OK, @joshsigurdson was the person who turned me on to steemit. I was a youtube follower and he just kept talking about this platform until I finally checked it out. He continues to provide top quality content, and to be actively engaged on the platform. He is a serious journalist who is not ashamed to speak the truth. If you are not following him, you are missing one of the best news sources ANYWHERE, not just on steemit!

Next, @c0ff33a. This mild mannered coffee snob by day has a small army of clones who curate for him. This guy must read a hundred blogs and hour, and he REALLY gets to know his steemmates. His comments are always thoughtful and pertinent, and his posts are just like chatting with an old buddy. He is just charming, and always upbeat and supportive!

How about a shoutout to @abbijulie! This lady... what can I say? She is just a trooper. Julie is loving caregiver to uniquely-abled Abbi, and the two of them share their journey together on steemit. Julie is, like me, older than your average steemian and I just love the way she just plods along, hanging in there and loving Abbi and her fellow steemians!

One more shoutout for @cecicastor who has been supporting me since about my first week on steemit. She is just this kind, gentle soul who, like c0ff33a, seems to be all over steemit every day. I don't know how they do it, but I am inspired by them both and trying to up my game to be more like them!

And I must give a shoutout to @sircork for the work he does with @youarehope. I have heard for so long about how people will not give to the needy if the government does not force us to do so with taxation and forceful redistribution of our wealth. I KNEW it was a lie, but it is hard to prove when everyone was under the thumb of government funded charity. YouAreHOPE PROVES that at least some anarchists will step right up and try to do charitable works, just give us a chance!

That is five, I am going to stop there but this is probably going to become a weekly thing, there are SO many AMAZING humans here, so many people who have been so kind and helpful, I want to take the time and really do a "shoutout" to them not just paste a list up here!

Thank you all for your kindness and support! Namaste!

Thank you so much @fishyculture , you are too kind to this old man bumbling around the interwebz just trying to leave a comment here or there. I am really so very pleased for @crazybgadventure I have been watching him work so hard since I first chanced on his vlog posts by accident - his journey on here has been long and sometimes frustrating as for us all - but he did not give up he kept working and learning - that's inspiration for all of us - if at first you don't succeed try and try again - eventually you will find that little niche - where you have sufficient following to share content between yourselves. I do visit many posts, if only I had the time and infinite VotePower to visit more - but you can at least easily track my progress - visit my blog and you will see every post I have upvoted and commented on through manual curation resteemed - I struggle to find my own posts anymore - in fact people do mention why resteem so many when it effectively hides my posts. The reason is Steemit is not so much about my own posts anymore, they are mostly pretty uninteresting anyway - for me it's about the amazing people I find and enjoy the varied and diverse content of. You mention some new accounts for me to investigate, thank you for that it's what makes this tag so very ingenious. Best wishes as always.

You rock, my friend!

Thank you, @fishyculture, for the shoutout! You are very kind in your comments. I saw much potential in you, and you were a bit downcast when we first met. My opinion has not changed. You do have so much more potential. You just need to get it out there! Oh, and I am all over the place because I put in really long hours! This old woman may have to slow down soon! LOL

Thanks for helping me stick out the tough times, sweet lady!

You are very welcome!

Thank you for including me! Voluntary giving in ancapistan, imagine that! Exactly what i wanted to proved with this organization. I am so glad you caught on to that! <3

Most anarchists I know would give you the shirt off their back... especially if it had some great anti-statism saying on it ;)

Well done @fishyculture for kicking the initiative off so early today, I am just in the middle of writing my post. Some great people you shouted out about, awesome job.

Ah! I am too fast not too slow? Lol! I thought it was just a one time thing, and I had missed it. Glad this will keep going, it is a great initiative!

That is five, I am going to stop there but this is probably going to become a weekly thing, there are SO many AMAZING humans here,

completely agree with this. There are a ton of great people on Steemit and they all deserve a little time in the spotlight. This is a fun little constest.

Great attitude !! Of course I would disagree about your own posts ( you have some great ones). But you really are a wonderful example to the rest of us.

thank you , sir :)

Regards :)

I can see how you support one another and hold each other up. We need a whole lot more of this going on. So happy to see this.

well done my friend!

Thanks!
