Bartimaeus received his sight: He began to shout, ´Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!´ Mark 10:47

Jesus explained to men in the gospels that he, the "son of man", came into the world to announce the good news, to redeem hearts, rehabilitate the oppressed, and give hope to the humble and poor of spirit; that is why in a metaphorical sense Jesus came so that the blind could see and the deaf could hear. The doctrine of the Kingdom of God is not only a theological doctrine about the divinity of Jesus, but also an ethical doctrine: to live the spiritual gifts inherited from God.
When Jesus told to his disciples and followers about seeing in the gospels, he did it with a double meaning because seeing means perceiving, and we can perceive with the mind or the senses.
And many miracles done by Jesus, for example the healing of the blind Bartimaeus, have this spiritual significance, to transmit to mankind the need to perceive that which is beyond our human limitations, and which can only be accessed by the divine grace. Perceiving the divine realities with mind and heart and becoming wise as God is wise ("Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect" Matthew 5:48) is one of the greatest demands of the doctrine of the Kingdom of God, the dominion or empire of God's perfections.
This is how the gospel of Mark tells us about the healing of Bartimaeus:
"As Jesus and his disciples, together with a large crowd, were leaving the city, a blind man, Bartimaeus, was sitting by the roadside begging. When he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to shout, ´Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!´
Many rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more, ´Son of David, have mercy on me!´
Jesus stopped and said, ´Call him.´
So they called to the blind man, ´Cheer up! On your feet! He's calling you. Throwing his cloak aside, he jumped to his feet and came to Jesus.
´What do you want me to do for you?´Jesus asked him.
The blind man said, ´Rabbi, I want to see.´
´Go,´ said Jesus, ´your faith has healed you.´ Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus along the road" Mark 10:46-52.
